BORN ON THE HEAD WATERS OF GILA RIVER IN NEW MEXICO ABOUT 1834 APACHE NAME GOYATHLAY (ONE WHO YAWNS) HIS FATHER: TAKLISHIM (THE GRAY ONE) MOTHER: JUANA. JEFF WAS ABOUT 6 OR 7 YEARS OLD WHEN HE WAS CAPTURED. JEFF'S APACHE NAME WAS CATCHOWITCH (HORSES TAIL)AFTER THEIR RETURN THEY HAD FORGOTTEN THEIR AMERICAN LANGUAGE . IT TOOK SOMETIME TO RE-CIVILIZE THEM AGAIN.
